Breaking Down the American Idol Judges

With If we want to be completely honest, we all can usually agree that the point of the popular TV show is not just to identity who the next great American Idol will be, but it is also to watch and see exactly what the American Idol judges will say and do next. Of course, not every American Idol episode is filled with entertaining antics from the shows judges, but every so often you can find the judges engaging in some weird encounter with a contestant. In order for the contestants to truly determine which of the American Idol judges is their friend, and which is their enemy, it is vitally important to establish which judges can be of the most help to them.

For the most part, the judges of American Idol are chock-full of useful information.  The rub comes when the contestants need to decide which of the judges they should listen to when they have conflicting opinions.  While it is the nature of people to want to hear that they are absolutely amazing they are probably better off if Simon has something to criticize them about then to say nothing at all. If you were to think about it a moment, isn’t it better for the contestants to take the advice from the judges and use it to start honing their actual skills then to not know what they need to work on due to the lack of any criticism at all by the American Idol judges.

It is especially important that American Idol contestants take heed of the advice that the judges are passing out and follow it. But being cautious on how you actually respond to the American Idol judges is also vital. Although Simon Cowell has a habit of coming off exceedingly abrasive, it would be a very good idea to actually listen to Simon advice. While Simon is not known for being the judge that is warm and cuddley, he is certainly respected as the one Idol judge that will always give it to the contestants straight, no matter how bad or good their performance.

On the other hand, Paula Abdul tends to strike both television viewers and contestants as the harebrained older sister. As an American Idol judge, Paula Abdul is extremely unique for the show, what with her unique outfits, weird comments and strange antics. Her biggest shortcoming is she tends to pull her punches in the face of confrontation and quite frankly, she is not always quite truthful with contestants when it comes time to give them truthful feedback about their performances. Contestants who are hoping to get good advice from Paula Abdul will be sorely disappointed. Paula is the one American Idol judge you would not want to look for suggestions about your entertainment career. However, after the last 7 seasons, Paula is by far the best judge at making contestants feel good and even bringing a silly panache to the show.

The last but not least of the American Idol judges is the very laid back, Randy Jackson. While Randy’s career has garnered him a great deal of respect from experts in the music industry, it has also helped him to form a genuinely special interaction with the contestants on the American Idol TV show. If you are looking for a judge who is a cross between Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell then Randy Jackson is your guy. He will give American Idol contestants a truthful assessment of their skills without embarrassing them. However, like Paula Abdul, Randy does tend to soften his criticism in order to shield the feelings of each Idol contestant.

All in all, if you were assess and compare all of skills of each of the American Idol judges, Simon Cowell would be the judge of choice.  While Simon might not be the viewers favorite choice of judges, he gives both the contestants and the viewing audience the feedback and information that singers need to actually get started in today’s music industry.  By showing him a bit of respect and actually using the sage advice he so often gives to the American Idol contestants, you should begin to see your skills improve. I say that because numerous past contestants have faithfully used Simon’s advice to help them rise very far into the ranks of the television show.

Putting one’s effort into the improvement that is necessary to actually make it on the American Idol television show often requires that you make a pact with the devil. Can’t find the devil? No problem. Just make a pact with the next best thing, Simon! All kidding aside, most everyone can readily agree that Simon Cowell is one American Idol judge who knows how to develop talent. Sure he is a tad brash in his methods of talking to the American Idol contestants, but as long as you are willing to overlook some of his overly harsh comments and suggestions, you will find that you can make substantial strides in your musical skills and talents. In conclusion, try making friends with all of the American Idol judges, not enemies.
