I don’t keep up with the American Idol tour, but it's a mystery why it is doing so well. I am only guessing, but the reason why it's doing so well is, the American Idol tour is seen as a part of American culture, therefore everyone is instantly attracted to it. Why? Because we put too much emphasis on being a celebrity these days, and apparently it doesn’t take much to be a celebrity these days. You can put just about anyone on TV and walla! they are a star. Suddenly they are in high demand and everyone wants their autograph. It often leaves me perplexed and scratching my head. I guess people would line up to see almost anything if you showed the same stick on TV long enough. That said, I'm ready to join the American Idol tour after I sign up for the next American Idol auditions.

Although it may sound like I have a strong dislike for the American Idol tour. Truth be told, I don’t have anything against the American Idol tour or the television show that spawned it. As a matter of fact, I watched the first season, and parts of the next ones that came after. I honestly like Kelly Clarkson's singing, and I was delighted to see that she was victorious. The thing that surprised me was all the pandemonium that ensued for the following American Idol tour. The entire top ten from the show toured. I wondered why everyone was so eager on seeing this American Idol tour in particular. I wonder if we will ever know.

I guess, the fact that some of those contestants on the American Idol tour didn’t work for it kind of irks me. I’m not saying the contestants weren’t talented, but what I am saying is that some of those contestants didn’t earn their shot. There are performers out there who have toiled for years and are far more talented. They didn’t get a television show to boost their careers, and they are far more deserving of such notice. The American Idol tour just seemed to magnify just how inconsistent the American audiences can be, and that in some cases you can just stick anyone up there and audiences will buy into it.

Perhaps I am being a tad too rough on the American Idol tour and those who compete on it, and maybe I am the only one that feels this way. Perhaps it’s because I am married to a woman who can sing, and she sings far better than many out there. Perhaps I am being too protective, but she has worked so hard and I don't see an American Idol tour like event to help her when she needs it. No one said life was fair though, and I certainly don’t wish any of the American Idol tour contestants any ill will. You have to grab a hold of success whenever it comes along I guess, and as long as the audiences are happy, there’s really nothing to whine about. You won’t catch me in the audience of any of the upcoming American Idol tours soon, but who knows, you just may get to hear my lovely wife singing up on the American Idol stage one day.
