Acclaimed by many as the best sitcom of all time, the TV show Seinfeld, winner of ten Emmy Awards was without a doubt one of the most popular sitcoms of the 1990s. Today, the Seinfeld reruns are one of the most popular TV shows that run in the early evening time slots. Seinfeld, stars stand up funny man Jerry Seinfeld who portrays a version of himself in the TV show. In comparison to other sitcoms, there were no great themes or dramatic highpoints. Like one of Seinfeld's most popular episodes, it came to be known as the show about nothing. The huge base of loyal Seinfeld fans miss the TV show's new episodes of course, but between the nightly reruns and the release of the complete Seinfeld DVD box set, they still have Jerry, Kramer, Elaine and George to keep them laughing. The complete Seinfeld DVD box set (1990-1998) consists of seasons 1-9 including scenes never before seen on the Seinfeld TV show.

The sitcom, which was created by Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David, centered on Seinfeld and his New York group of friends. The Sienfeld TV show audience had no difficulty relating to their everyday experiences, which often involved the annoying aspects of modern, big city living that all city dwellers encounter. My favorite episodes were when Jerry and friends explored different relationships. I still laugh hysterically as each character (especially Jerry and Elaine) attempts to negotiate the dating game.

The Seinfeld sitcom supporting cast became household names during their 9 season run, which began in 1989/1990 season and came to a conclusion with the Seinfeld final episode in 1998. Michael Richards plays Cosmo Kramer, who lives across the hall from Jerry, is the eccentric nut case of the bunch. We all waited in anticipation to see what he would do next. Jason Alexander plays George Costanza, a seldom employed neurotic, who needs Jerry Sienfeld's calming influence to survive. Elaine is played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Elaine and Seinfeld have a sometimes more than close friendship in the TV show, despite being each other's ex.

There TV show totaled nine seasons and 180 episodes. The complete Seinfeld DVD box set is divided into complete seasons, with some special gift sets available. The DVDs contain many extras, giving fans of the Seinfeld TV show a complete look behind the scenes. Some discs contain actors commentaries as well as interviews with the shows cast and creators. There are deleted scenes, documentaries, out-takes, trivia track, photo galleries and some television appearances by the cast. You can purchase all 9 seasons on DVD separately or the complete Seinfeld DVD box set for the complete series plus added bonuses.

TV show DVDs give popular television shows another lease of life, as well as giving fans a chance to catch up on any episodes they may have missed. The complete Seinfeld DVD box sets gives fans a lot more extras than a lot of other TV show DVDs, making them worth buying for those extras alone. Sadly, they will have to suffice, as it looks like there is no amount of money that can entice Jerry Seinfeld to make new episodes, a Seinfeld movie or a Seinfeld reunion. Even TV shows about nothing have to come to an end sometime. Let's hope that Kramer, Elaine and George can talk Jerry into doing one more. Until then, I'll watch my Seinfeld DVD box set.
