Download Free Computer Games for Family Fun

Like most of us, you probably have a houseful of gaming consoles like Playstation 2 & 3, Nintendo Gamecube & Wii or Xbox & Xbox 360 that see a lot of use, but had not thought of using the PC for our play time until recently. I came to realize that we were gathering a pile of video game console activities that cost a great deal of money but we were not playing them very often. The problem was that it was not until the game was brought home that the kids could tell whether a game was going to be playable, but by that time it was too late, the money was already spent, so it did not matter what they thought about it. We now have shelves full of $30 to $50 video games that rarely if ever get played. That's when we found out that we could download free computer games that would save us from blowing a lot of cash on our game library.

We soon discovered a few very good websites that let us download free computer games of all kinds to play as much as we liked on our PC. Some of these free game downloads were classic favorites that we grew to love. Others are some of the newest computer games out on the market. In fact, that there are thousands upon thousands of computer games to choose from in every genre, from every era. The hardest part was trying to decide which free games I wanted to download to my computer first.

I tend to favor arcade games and jigsaw puzzles, and I was easy to find and download free computer games in both of these categories. My wife would often catch me in our den late in the evening, testing out a new version of Diner Dash or putting together a puzzle on the PC. But that's okay, because on more than one occasion I found her conquering the world with our newly downloaded game of Risk. Including Risk, we now have a multitude of downloaded free computer games that we can play together as a family which has helped bring us much closer together. My two teenagers are now looking forward to our Sunday night computer games!

Besides playing computer games with me and my wife, my kids discovered that they could download free computer games that they liked playing as well. Bejeweled was one free computer game that my kids downloaded and had a blast figuring it out. They were having such a good time playing it I decided I had to try it out myself, so one night after they were all in bed I did just that. While my teen's enjoyed Bejeweled's activities to the max, a great deal of the choices were complicated enough to challenge us older players too. We all realized that we could download free computer games that would entertain everyone in our household for years to come. Now if I could only find a way to get them to do their chores instead of downloading and playing free PC games.
