How To Download YouTube Videos To Your PC

How To Download And Convert YouTube Videos

Now you can tap into the fantastic world of videos, such as YouTube, Google Video, Metacafe and MySpaceTV by downloading them to your PC and converting the videos to play on your iPod, PSP, Zune, MP3 players and video cell phones. For those of you who want to know how to download YouTube videos and the rest to your PC keep reading because it is easier than you think. You will now be able to download your favorite YouTube music videos, YouTube movies, YouTube bloopers, YouTube pranks, YouTube for adults plus YouTube Mririan and even YouTube Naruto like Naruto Fanflashes on YouTube. Say that 5 times fast!

First off, for brevities sake, when I say Youtube, I am also talking about Google Video, Metacafe and MySpaceTV or any other video site. Once you download YouTube videos and save them to your PC, you can either watch them on your computer while you are offline or you can use this wonderful software application I found that is both a YouTube downloader and YouTube converter to convert all of your favorite YouTube music videos, YouTube movies, YouTube bloopers, YouTube pranks, YouTube for adults plus YouTube Mririan and even YouTube Naruto like Naruto Fanflashes on YouTube to play on your iPod, PSP, Zune, MP3 players and video cell phones. You will then be able to watch and listen to your favorite music videos wherever you go, send videos to family and friends by way of your cell phone, use the videos as part of presentations for work and so much more.

Before I tell you how to download YouTube videos to your computer, I want to tell you a little bit about this great software I use as both a YouTube downloader and YouTube converter. The software is called Video Piggy (you can stop laughing now) and despite it's peculiar name it does a fantastic job as a YouTube downloader and YouTube converter. Here are a few of the things you will be able to do with Video Piggy:

1. Download videos from YouTube, Google Video, Metacafe and MySpaceTV and put them on your PC.

2. Convert the Google Video, Metacafe and MySpaceTV and YouTube videos to AVI, WMV, MPEG, MP4, MOV and 3GP video formats, for easy playback on your PC and DVD player.

3. Listen to music videos on your MP3 player.

4. Import the Google Video, Metacafe and MySpaceTV and YouTube videos to your iPod, Sony PSP, Zune or other portable media player.

5. Put the Google Video, Metacafe and MySpaceTV and YouTube videos on your mobile cell phone.

6. Extract the soundtrack from the video to an MP3 file.

7. Embed the Google Video, Metacafe and MySpaceTV and YouTube videos into a PowerPoint presentation.

Learn How To Download YouTube Videos To Your PC

To start with, you need to choose which website you are going to download your video from. The main ones being, YouTube, Google Video, Metacafe and MySpaceTV. For this exercise, let's head over to YouTube.com with your Web browser.

Next, you will need to choose the video you want to download. Whether it be one of your favorite YouTube music videos, YouTube movies, YouTube TV shows, YouTube bloopers, YouTube pranks, YouTube for adults, YouTube Mririan and even YouTube Naruto like Naruto Fanflashes on YouTube, it does not matter. Pick from any category you want.

Once you select your video, a YouTube page with the video you chose will be opened.

Once you have opened the YouTube page with your chosen video, look up at your browser address bar. There will be a URL address which is displayed in your browser address bar. You will need to copy and paste it in the upcoming steps.

To copy this URL address from your browser address bar to Windows clipboard, select it with your mouse so that the entire address is highlighted, then right-click and choose "Copy".

Next you will need to launch the Video Piggy software or any other YouTube downloader and YouTube converter software that you have. In this tutorial, I will be using the Video Piggy software. (If you already have another brand of YouTube downloader and YouTube converter software, just check with the owners manual for how to do this part of the tutorial. You will probably find them to be similar.) When you run Video Piggy, you will notice that there is a field named Video page URL. Here is where you will "Paste" the URL address you "Copied" in the last step. this field, To do this just click into the field, right click your mouse and select "Paste" .

Now, all you need to do is tell Video Piggy that you want to download this YouTube video to your computer. To do so, just click the Convert button.

Once you have clicked the Convert button, a Save video file dialog window will open. This is where you need to choose where to save the downloaded YouTube video onto your PC hard drive.

I find it easiest to chose the desktop as the file location for your save spot. Make sure you give it a file name that will help you remember what the file is. This is just a suggestion, you are of course free to pick any name and location as you wish.

Once you have entered the filename and location, click Save to confirm the file name you have chosen.

Once you click "Save", your YouTube video will begin downloading to your computer's hard drive. You should now see a dialog box informing you of the YouTube video's download progress.

Once the download has completed, the video file will be converted to the format you have specified. After the video file conversion finishes, a confirmation window will appear.

"Congratulations! You have now successfully downloaded the video to your computer." And so you have. Now your Video Piggy YouTube downloader and YouTube converter software is ready to download and convert another YouTube video. Remember, it also downloads and converts Google Video, Metacafe and MySpaceTV and other videos.
